Hyundai Motor Group unveils its Physical AI vision…strengthens cooperation with NVIDIA, Google, and others

Hyundai Motor Group unveiled a vision to transform itself into a physical AI company spanning autonomous driving, robotics, and AI factories. At an AI summit held in San Francisco, USA, on the 24th local time, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Euisun announced this direction and also explained plans to expand cooperation with NVIDIA, Waymo, and Google DeepMind. Chairman Chung presented the goal of physical AI as integrated citylevel intelligence. The concept is to start with the intelligence of vehicles and robots, then expand to factories where production and logistics are connected by AI, and further to cities where energy, mobility, and infrastructure are optimized in real time. To this end, Hyundai Motor Group is pushing ahead with securing 50,000 Blackwell GPUs from NVIDIA, establishing a robot application center, and building digital twins for manufacturing. It is also continuing cooperation with Waymo on autonomous vehicle production at its Georgia plant in the United States, and will work with Google DeepMind to develop AI models to improve the autonomy of Boston Dynamics robots. Within South Korea, it is also planning to create the Saemangeum AI Valley and an advanced industry hub in the Yeongnam region. Hyundai Motor Group said it aims to expand the physical AI ecosystem by enhancing AI through its largescale manufacturing capabilities, robotics technology, and onsite data.
