On June 5, the AEE25 aviation electric engine, independently developed by AVIC Power Control Systems Institute, completed its first rollout and delivery. This marks new progress for China in key technologies for aviation electric engines, with related performance reaching an internationally advanced level.
AEE25 is being developed for electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. It integrates six core components into one unit, including the main motor, controller, cooling system motor and controller, and variablepitch servo and controller, making it one of the aviation electric engines with a relatively high level of integration in China at present.
According to the introduction, the engine places emphasis on safety and redundancy in its design and has simultaneously entered the airworthiness certification stage. The first delivered product will later be mounted on a fiveseat manned allelectric tiltrotor aircraft for use.
