Gyeongbuk Province will strengthen exchanges in the fields of culture and tourism with Nara Prefecture in Japan, taking the KoreaJapan summit as an opportunity. Gyeongbuk Province said on the 26th that it visited the Nara Prefectural Government Office on the 23rd to discuss ways to expand cooperation.
Gyeongbuk Province sees this exchange as a model of local diplomacy that can go beyond a simple event and lead to the tourism and content industries. Nara Prefecture is a region that has grown its tourism industry based on history, traditional culture, and World Heritage sites, and Gyeongbuk Province is seeking sustainable cooperative projects by linking them with local cultural resources such as Andong.
The two sides discussed plans to invite officials from Nara Prefecture and experts in traditional food and traditional liquor to the Traditional Liquor Culture Festival and the Jongga Food Culture Festival, which will be held in Andong in October. They also plan to promote various cultural exchanges, including artist exchanges, cooperation on performances and exhibitions, and participation in the Andong Mask Dance Festival.
