According to an announcement on the China Railway WeChat public account, on September 26 the national railway is expected to carry 13 million passengers, and 644 additional passenger trains are planned to be added. The previous day, the national railway carried 21.761 million passengers, and overall transportation remained safe and stable.
As of 8:00 on September 26, China Railway 12306 has cumulatively sold 143 million train tickets for transportation during the MidAutumn Festival and National Day holiday period. Current advance sales data show that travel demand is relatively concentrated in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and Chengdu, and ticket availability on some popular routes varies across different stages of the holiday.
The railway authorities said that during the holiday period they will improve transportation capacity by adding trains, optimizing station and onboard services, strengthening safety protection and transit connections, and they reminded passengers to pay attention to announcements from 12306 and railway stations, and to arrange ticket purchases and travel time reasonably.
