Guangdong courts accepted 1.9946 million new cases in the first half of the year, down 3.25% year on year

Guangdong courts improved trial quality and efficiency: in the first half of the year, 1.9946 million new cases were accepted and 1.6956 million cases were concluded in trial and enforcement. More than 160,000 disputes were resolved through diversified mechanisms, continuously improving efficiency and helping Guangdong's high-quality development

On July 29, the Guangdong Provincial High People's Court held a provincewide work meeting to advance the improvement of trial quality and efficiency in courts, and reported on the casehandling situation of Guangdong courts in the first half of this year. Data show that from January to June, courts across the province accepted 1.9946 million new cases, down 3.25% year on year. The meeting introduced that during the same period, courts across the province concluded 1.6956 million cases in trial and enforcement, continuing to rise by 13.38% on top of last year's yearonyear growth; all 122 basiclevel courts have already moved into countylevel comprehensive governance centers, participating in the resolution of more than 160,000 disputes. The meeting also proposed that Guangdong courts will continue to advance the diversified resolution of disputes in the next stage, strengthen their primary responsibilities in trial and enforcement, and rely on digital management mechanisms to improve trial quality and efficiency, providing judicial support for local highquality development.
