World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization signed in Shanghai, promoting international AI cooperation and global governance 29 countries become founding members, focusing on safety, fairness, and people-centered development
On July 16, the signing ceremony for the Agreement on the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization was held in Shanghai. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended and signed the agreement on behalf of the Chinese government.
The agreement specifies that the organization is an independent intergovernmental international organization, with the aim of promoting international cooperation and global governance in artificial intelligence, fostering the development of AI in a beneficial, safe, and equitable direction, and emphasizing the principles of peoplecenteredness and extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits.
According to reports, the organization's headquarters will be located in Shanghai, China. Representatives from 29 countries, including Kazakhstan, Laos, Pakistan, Russia, and Indonesia, signed the agreement and became founding member states. Representatives of countries and international organizations, including UN SecretaryGeneral Guterres, attended the ceremony.
