Chinese authorities officially announce that Zhang Shiping and Yang Hongyong have been expelled from the Party

On July 27, Chinese authorities announced that Zhang Shiping, former member of the Party Leadership Group, secretary of the Secretariat, and vice chairman of the AllChina Federation of Trade Unions, as well as Yang Hongyong, former member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of Harbin Electric Group, and former National Supervisory Commission resident supervisor at Harbin Electric Group, had been expelled from the Party for serious disciplinary and legal violations. The notice said that Zhang Shiping and Yang Hongyong were both found to have violated the spirit of the Central EightPoint Regulation, illegally accepted gifts and cash, used their positions to seek benefits for others, and illegally accepted huge sums of money and property, among other issues. Relevant authorities have, in accordance with regulations, revoked their benefits, confiscated the proceeds from their disciplinary and legal violations, and transferred the suspected criminal matters to the procuratorate for review and prosecution in accordance with the law. The two were separately announced to be under investigation in late 2025 and early 2026, and then entered the Party disciplinary and administrative sanction procedures.
