Aero Engine Corporation of China CS35 Engine Helps the 1.5-Ton-Class “Qizhi 5” UAV Achieve a Successful Maiden Flight

Beijing, August 3, China News Service — The CS35 engine, developed by AECC Light Aircraft Engine under the Aero Engine Corporation of China, was recently installed on the 1.5tonclass "Qizhi No. 5" tiltrotor drone of Nanjing Qizhi Aviation Technology Co., Ltd., and completed its maiden flight.
According to the report, the CS35 is a 350kilowattclass turboshaft engine featuring a modular design that emphasizes ease of maintenance. It can be used in scenarios such as unmanned cargo transport, sightseeing tourism, and special operations. Previously, the engine had already been validated through ground running tests and tethered flight tests, laying the groundwork for this maiden flight.
On the day of the maiden flight, "Qizhi No. 5" completed takeoff, hovering, maneuvering flight, and landing in sequence. The flight remained stable, and the relevant parameters met requirements, verifying the reliability of the aircraft's aerodynamic layout, power system, and flight control system. The company stated that it will continue to advance cooperation, optimize engine performance, and expand the general aviation power market.
