Li Qiang Meets with Slovak President Pellegrini

On the afternoon of July 29, Premier of the State Council Li Qiang met at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing with Slovak President Peter Pellegrini, who was paying a state visit to China. Li Qiang said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Slovakia, the two countries have always respected each other and treated each other as equals, and bilateral relations have developed steadily in recent years. After the two countries established a strategic partnership in 2024, cooperation in various fields has further accelerated. The Chinese side hopes to strengthen political mutual trust with the Slovak side, expand cooperation in areas such as connectivity, new energy vehicles, and artificial intelligence, and encourage more Chinese enterprises to invest in Slovakia. Li Qiang also said that he hopes the Slovak side will continue to provide Chinese enterprises with a fair, transparent, and nondiscriminatory business environment, while strengthening peopletopeople exchanges in education, culture, and other fields, so as to consolidate the popular support for the friendship between the two countries. He also noted that ChinaEU cooperation has a foundation of mutual benefit and winwin results, and looks forward to the EU's China policy developing in a more positive and rational direction. Pellegrini said that the Slovak side attaches great importance to relations with China and is willing to continue advancing the strategic partnership between the two countries, expanding cooperation in investment, science and technology, transportation and logistics, artificial intelligence, and other areas, and welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in Slovakia. The two sides also exchanged views on the Belt and Road Initiative, ChinaCentral and Eastern European Countries cooperation, and ChinaEU dialogue.
