Myanmar's President Visits China Railway Construction, Expresses Willingness to Deepen Pragmatic Cooperation

Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing, who is paying a state visit to China, visited China Railway Construction Corporation on the morning of June 17 and said he hoped to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side in the field of infrastructure. During the visit, Min Aung Hlaing and his entourage toured the China Railway Construction exhibition hall and learned about highspeed rail technology, shield tunneling equipment, and the achievements of Chinese enterprises in overseas construction. The report noted that China Railway Construction had already participated in Myanmar's infrastructure development as early as the 1980s. The Thanlyin Bridge, completed in 1993, was called the "ChinaMyanmar Friendship Bridge" by local people, while the Dala Bridge, completed this year, is also regarded as an important project in Myanmar's bridge construction. Min Aung Hlaing said that through this visit he had gained a further understanding of the Chinese side's experience in railway construction, and welcomed Chinese enterprises to visit Myanmar for inspections, hoping that the two sides would continue to advance pragmatic cooperation in infrastructure and other fields.
