Guangzhou releases the 2026 edition of the hand-drawn map of intangible cultural heritage

At the main venue event for Guangzhou’s 2026 “Cultural and Natural Heritage Day,” the Handdrawn Map of Guangzhou’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (2026 Edition) was officially released. The event was held on June 13 at Zhengguo Old Street in Zengcheng District, Guangzhou, and was promoted by the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism and other relevant parties, with the aim of presenting local intangible cultural heritage resources in a more intuitive way. At the event, a “Nonheritage Summer Shopping Month” setting was also created, showcasing traditional craftsmanship, intangible cultural heritage cuisine, traditional medicine, and folk culture, and, in combination with rural revitalization and the construction of the highquality development leading zone for counties, towns, and villages around Mount Nankun and Luofushan, promoting the integration of cultural heritage protection with local development. On the same day, the “2025–2026 Guangzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Chronicle” was also released, and plaques were awarded for Guangzhou’s ninth batch of municipallevel representative intangible cultural heritage items. A total of 106 items were selected, setting a new record. At the same time, the list of 22 Guangzhou intangible cultural heritage workshops was also announced, highlighting the role of intangible cultural heritage in employment, income growth, and rural development.
