The Ministry of Commerce and 9 other departments have introduced measures to promote the high-quality development of the domestic services industry

On July 20, the Ministry of Commerce and eight other departments jointly released the "Several Policy Measures for Promoting the HighQuality Development of the Domestic Services Industry," putting forward 19 specific measures in five areas: supporting domestic service enterprises, institutional innovation, vocational skills training, the construction of a credit information platform, and strengthening the industry foundation. The policy proposes encouraging domestic service companies to innovate service models, expand inhome elderly care and childcare services, and promote supporting measures such as insurance products, longterm care services, and social security protection for flexible employment. At the same time, localities may, in light of actual conditions, explore ways to safeguard the rights and interests of domestic service workers in areas such as rest time, privacy protection, and employment standards. In terms of industry capacity building, the document proposes strengthening the integration of industry and education, improving the identification of vocational skill levels, promoting skills competitions, and optimizing human resources services. In terms of supervision and basic institutions, it will also improve the sharing of credit information, revise model contract texts, advance the development of standards, and strengthen price supervision, requiring clear price labeling and standardized tiered pricing.
