China-Laos Friendship Moves Toward a New Stage

Thongloun, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of Laos, visited China from June 2 to 6. This visit came at the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Laos, and also provided a new opportunity for the two countries to continue advancing highlevel exchanges and pragmatic cooperation.
The report reviewed important progress in ChinaLaos relations in recent years, including the growth in passenger and freight traffic and development along the route after the full opening of the ChinaLaos Railway, the commissioning of the ChinaLaos 500kV interconnection project, and achievements in infrastructure cooperation such as highways and refining projects. These projects have further improved connectivity between the two countries and also promoted regional cooperation.
