Kia unveiled the large electrified purposebuilt vehicle (PBV), the PV7, for the first time at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany. The PV7 is a model with a larger body and cargo space than the PV5 introduced last year, and it was designed to be adaptable for various uses such as passenger transport and cargo delivery.
The PV7 measures approximately 5.3 meters in length and about 2 meters in width and height, and it is divided into Standard and Long Range versions depending on the battery configuration. Kia said the Long Range model is equipped with a 96.2 kWh battery and has a driving range of over 460 km on a single charge based on European standards.
The vehicle is classified into Cargo for freight and Passenger for passengers, and the Passenger model will be released in 7seat, 9seat, and 11seat versions. With seating for up to four rows, the interior layout can be changed depending on the number of people and luggage, and the Cargo model has a lowered floor height to improve loading convenience. Kia plans to launch the PV7 in Korea and Europe in the second half of next year, then gradually expand a variety of derivative models, including specialpurpose vehicles.
