Pyongyang, June 8 (Xinhua) — On the evening of June 8, Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan attended a welcome banquet hosted by Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju at Moranbong House in Pyongyang. Along the way, there were North Korean people welcoming them. Before the banquet, the leaders of both China and the DPRK took a group photo and exchanged greetings. In his remarks, Xi Jinping said that the traditional friendship between China and the DPRK has withstood the test of international vicissitudes, and that the two sides will, from the overall interests of the development of the socialist cause in the two countries, strengthen highlevel exchanges, strategic communication, and practical cooperation, and promote the continued forward development of bilateral relations. Kim Jong Un said that Xi Jinping's visit reflected the Chinese side's emphasis on ChinaDPRK relations, and that the two sides exchanged views on further developing bilateral relations and on international and regional issues of mutual concern. Cai Qi, Wang Yi, and other Chinese officials attended the banquet.
