Mirae Asset misses out on SpaceX IPO allocation

Mirae Asset Securities’ SpaceX IPO allocation falls through, and domestic investors will receive full refunds for their subscriptions Check quickly on Goldman Sachs’ final allocation variable and the impact on ETF inclusion

Mirae Asset Securities participated in the SpaceX IPO underwriting syndicate, but it was found that it did not actually receive an allocation of shares. As a result, subscriptions from domestic investors who had hoped to secure shares through Mirae Asset Securities were fully refunded. In this offering, SpaceX attracted strong market attention, closing on its first day of trading on Nasdaq at $161.11, up 19.34% from the offering price. However, it was reported that in the final allocation process, Goldman Sachs, the lead underwriter, did not allocate any shares for sale to the underwriting syndicate, causing Mirae Asset Securities' portion to disappear. Domestic asset managers, including Korea Investment Management and Mirae Asset Global Investments, had also planned to include SpaceX shares in ETFs, but they were unable to secure as many shares as expected. Some asset managers plan to adjust their portfolio composition through intraday trading or by adding the shares after listing.
