Shandong advances the building of distinctive geoscience and mining brands, with technical services empowering local development

Recently, the Shandong geological and mineral system has continued to intensify efforts around building distinctive geological and mineral brands, focusing on better enabling professional and technical expertise to serve highquality economic and social development. The No. 801 Team under the province’s Geological and Mineral Engineering Survey Institute has drawn on its accumulated expertise in hydrogeology, engineering geology, environmental geology, geothermal energy, critical minerals, and geological equipment to create two major brands: the "HydroEngineeringEnvironment Elite Force" and the "Karst Spring Guardian." In building the "HydroEngineeringEnvironment Elite Force," the No. 801 Team has relied on its technical strengths accumulated over many years to participate in projects such as water source areas, geothermal resource development, water supply security, mine pollution control, and clean heating. It will also continue to serve major projects including highspeed railways, airports, rail transit, and underground space development, while strengthening research efforts in geothermal energy, pumpedstorage hydropower, geological big data, and "dual carbon"related technologies. In the "Karst Spring Guardian" initiative, the No. 801 Team has long served the protection of Jinan’s spring region, carrying out work centered on spring preservation and source replenishment, the symbiosis of metro construction and springs, and the popularization of springrelated knowledge. The report shows that the team will continue advancing the development of technical systems for springregion monitoring, numerical simulation, and precise source replenishment, using scientific and technological innovation to drive brand upgrading and enhance the ability of geological services to support urban governance and regional development.
