This Year's National Tax Revenue Projected at 478.6 Trillion Won... the Highest Ever
National tax revenue excess tax revenue of 63.2 trillion won, the highest tax revenue forecast ever Check the re-estimate reflecting the recovery in semiconductors and the stock market, and the issues surrounding future use
As the government reestimated this year's national tax revenue to reflect the semiconductor market and the stock market recovery trend, it was projected to reach a total of 478.6 trillion won. This is far above the estimates made in the original budget and the supplementary budget, marking the largest amount on record.
According to the revised estimate, this year's excess tax revenue was tallied at 63.2 trillion won. Income tax, securities transaction tax, and valueadded tax are expected to come in higher than anticipated, and it was analyzed that increased bonuses in the semiconductor and financial industries, special dividends, and expanded housing transactions affected the increase in tax revenue.
Discussion is expected to continue over where to use the excess tax revenue. If it is reflected as funding for the Future Response Fund, the size of the fund could grow to the 200 trillion won range, but there are also opinions that it should first be used for pressing issues such as repaying government bonds, youth employment, easing polarization, and housing supply.
