Anhui's "15th Five-Year Plan" proposes to advance four water conservancy tasks
Anhui's "15th Five-Year Plan" for water conservancy focuses on flood control and disaster reduction, water conservation and use, and the construction of a modern water network At the same time, it will promote river and lake ecological protection and enhance capabilities for flood and drought prevention and water supply security
The Anhui Provincial Department of Water Resources recently stated that during the "15th FiveYear Plan" period, Anhui plans to systematically advance four key water conservancy tasks centered on flood control and disaster reduction, water conservation and efficient water use, modern water network construction, and river and lake ecological protection.
According to the plan, Anhui will strengthen flood control and management in key areas such as the main stream of the Yangtze River, the flood storage and detention areas of the Huaihe River, the Xin'an River, and Chaohu Lake, and promote hazard removal and reinforcement of small and mediumsized rivers, mountain flood channels, dangerous reservoirs, and sluices to enhance the capacity to prevent floods and droughts.
In terms of water conservation, the region will implement dual controls on total water use and wateruse intensity, deepen reform of water rights, and promote coordinated efforts to save water in agriculture, industry, and urban areas; at the same time, it will accelerate the construction of backbone projects such as the second phase of the SouthtoNorth Water Diversion from the Yangtze River to the Huaihe River, promote irrigation district renovation and digital scheduling, and improve the urban and rural water supply system.
In addition, Anhui will also focus on river and lake protection, ecological restoration, and the inheritance of water culture to promote the development of happy rivers and lakes. Official disclosures show that during the "14th FiveYear Plan" period, Anhui completed a cumulative water conservancy investment of 286.7 billion yuan, laying a financial foundation for subsequent water conservancy construction.
