At the regular press conference held on May 6, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian responded to questions related to the Ukraine crisis. He said that the Chinese side has repeatedly issued safety advisories, urging Chinese citizens to stay away from areas of armed conflict and avoid being drawn into the conflict in any form, especially not to take part in military operations on either side. Lin Jian also said that the Chinese side has asked the Ukrainian side to, in accordance with relevant international law, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens and ensure humane treatment. This statement was made in response to a question about the situation in Ukraine at the press conference that day.
