On July 6, Ningde, Fujian held a conference on the highquality development of a modern integrated transportation system, focusing on promoting multiple cooperation initiatives and project signings around the integration of transportation with industry and the city, and signed related agreements with the Provincial Department of Transportation and the Provincial Expressway Group. Reports show that since the 14th FiveYear Plan began, Ningde has continued to address shortcomings in transportation infrastructure, with cumulative transportation investment reaching 48.9 billion yuan. The total mileage of roads open to traffic has exceeded 13,000 kilometers, and the expressway, ordinary national and provincial highways, and rural road networks have kept improving, further enhancing the function of regional transportation hubs. Improvements in transportation have also driven local industry and tourism development. Gutian edible fungi, Fu'an grapes, Pingnan cultural and creative tourism, and Yushan islandring tourism in Fuding have all benefited from better road and transport conditions. Ningde said it will continue to advance landsea coordination and transportation modernization, and raise the level of travel, logistics, and port development.
