KIOST three-person manned submersible supports marine exploration and research at depths of 300m Check out the news on the technology being developed for use in seafloor observation and resource surveys
The Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST) is developing a threeperson manned submersible that can travel in relatively shallow waters with a depth of 300 meters.
This project is intended to support marine exploration, research, and onsite observation, and aims to secure equipment that allows people to directly board and inspect the underwater environment. The submersible can be used in various fields such as underwater surveys, marine resources, and seabed topography analysis.
Based on related technologies, KIOST plans to carry out the design and manufacturing of the submersible while also considering safety and operability.
