Xinhua News Agency, Helsinki, July 5 — Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held talks with Finnish Foreign Minister Valtonen in Helsinki that day. Wang Yi said that over the 76 years since China and Finland established diplomatic relations, the relationship has developed steadily, with both sides maintaining cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual respect. The Chinese side is willing to continue strengthening exchanges with the Finnish side at all levels, consolidating political mutual trust, and expanding practical cooperation in areas such as green and lowcarbon development, scientific and technological innovation, and artificial intelligence. Wang Yi also mentioned that the Chinese side is willing to engage in dialogue with the European side, but hopes that the relevant economic and trade consultation mechanism will avoid becoming a tool for unilateral pressure, and looks forward to the Finnish side playing a positive role in promoting the stable development of ChinaEU relations. Valtonen said that the Finnish side adheres to the oneChina policy and is willing to deepen cooperation with the Chinese side in areas such as green transition, trade and investment, health care, the digital economy, and climate change, while strengthening communication and coordination on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations.
