Hainan Province is accelerating efforts to improve its earthquake early warning service system. During the 15th FiveYear Plan period, it plans to focus on three directions—greater convenience, higher accuracy, and better effectiveness—to expand the coverage of early warning information and improve its realworld impact.
The Hainan Earthquake Agency said that the province has now established diversified early warning receiving channels, including mobile phones, television, dedicated terminals, and emergency broadcasting. The public can subscribe to the service through a mobile mini program, and some domestic mobile phones already have builtin earthquake early warning functions; dedicated terminals on the TV side and in key places such as schools, hospitals, and communities are also being continuously deployed.
Next, Hainan will promote broader coverage of TV early warnings, advance the improvement of school early warning systems, and fill the coverage gaps in remote villages and coastal fishing villages. At the same time, Hainan will further densify its earthquake monitoring station network, strengthen monitoring of major fault zones, volcanic areas, and sea areas, and improve the early warning linkage and response mechanism to enhance the public's ability to avoid danger and handle emergencies.
