Hunan establishes a new model for coordinated supervision of food safety in the delivery process

Hunan has upgraded food safety supervision, strengthening full-chain control over the delivery process Verification of the Hunan Food Safety Code and coordinated handling of leads work together to safeguard food safety in parcels

When Hunan launched the 2026 Food Safety Publicity Week in Changsha, it announced that, through coordination between the market regulation and postal administration departments, it would further strengthen food safety supervision in the delivery process and improve fullchain management from production and delivery to consumption. According to the newly issued relevant notice, Hunan will promote information sharing, joint transfer of leads, and mutual assistance in handling cases, and require delivery enterprises to strictly implement the realname, inspection, and security screening systems, with a focus on preventing counterfeit and substandard food from circulating through express delivery channels. The local area will also promote the verification mechanism for the "Xiangshi'an Code," helping couriers quickly verify the qualifications of food business entities when picking up parcels, and compare whether the business premises match the pickup location. At the same time, by setting up mobile checkpoints, encouraging internal reporting of hidden risks, and appointing couriers and food delivery riders as food safety supervisors, it will enhance social oversight capabilities. Hunan said that in recent years, the province's food safety governance has continued to advance, and food safety satisfaction has improved. The next step will be to continue strengthening interdepartmental coordination and wholeprocess supervision, and improve food safety risk prevention and control capabilities.
