The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency have launched a new support program to help small and mediumsized entertainment agencies expand overseas, and have selected the first 10 recipient groups.
This program provides up to about 300 million won per agency per year to support the growth of the Kpop industry. The selected teams may use the grants flexibly in the areas they need, such as producing export albums and music videos, overseas marketing, and holding performances.
The government plans to broaden the industry ecosystem by strengthening the production and performance capabilities of small and mediumsized agencies amid growing market concentration around major agencies. The selected groups are preparing activities targeting various markets, including Japan, the United States, India, and Malaysia.
