China and Canada Hold the Third High-Level Dialogue on National Security and Rule of Law

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, July 23 — The third ChinaCanada HighLevel Dialogue on National Security and Rule of Law was held in Beijing on the 22nd. The two sides exchanged views on issues including combating transnational crime, counterterrorism, drug control, and cooperation in immigration enforcement.
The dialogue was cochaired by Yin Bai, SecretaryGeneral of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China, and Morrison, Senior Adviser to the Canadian Prime Minister on Foreign and International Affairs. The Chinese side said it is willing to work with the Canadian side to implement the cooperation consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries in the security field, continue to give full play to the role of this mechanism, and promote cooperation in areas such as national security, law enforcement, and judicial affairs.
The two sides also said they hope to promote the development of the new strategic partnership between the two countries through sustained communication. Relevant personnel from the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of State Security attended the dialogue.
