Director Na Hongjin directly revealed the postproduction process and directing concerns for the film ‘Hope’ at the movie’s official domestic press screening. The screening was held on the 6th at Megabox COEX in Gangnamgu, Seoul, and actors Hwang Jungmin, Jo Insung, and JUNG HOYEON also attended.
Director Na explained that he continued editing and additional work even after the film’s Cannes Film Festival unveiling, and that the screening version differs from the existing version by several minutes. He also said that some scenes are being meticulously refined to the point of reviewing nearly 100 versions.
He revealed that the alien creature design took more than three years, and said he is continuing work until the very end to find the final version suited for theatrical release. ‘Hope’ is a film set in Hopo Port in the Demilitarized Zone, depicting what happens in the village after news of a tiger sighting, and it will be released in Korea on the 15th.
