More than 500 million aquatic organisms released through synchronized nationwide stocking and release
Nationwide aquatic organism stocking and release exceeded 500 million, with more than 30,000 released at the main venue in Miyun, Beijing Intelligent counting provides precise statistics, focusing on the results of release and the latest progress in aquatic ecosystem restoration
On June 9, the main event of the 2026 National Aquatic Organism Synchronized Enhancement and Release program was held in Miyun, Beijing, where more than 30,000 freshwater fingerlings, including grass carp and sharpbelly, were released into Miyun Reservoir. With this, the total number of synchronized enhancement releases nationwide this year has exceeded 500 million.
This year's event used, for the first time, a livefish suction pump together with an intelligent counter to complete the release statistics. The released fingerlings could be transported quickly and recorded accurately, with a counting accuracy rate of 99%.
According to reports, from June 5 to 9, more than 200 release events were held nationwide, and the aquatic seedlings released included marine economic species, widely distributed freshwater economic species, as well as rare and endangered species and freshwater regional species. Relevant departments stated that enhancement releases are an important means of conserving aquatic resources and restoring aquatic ecosystems.
