In May 2021, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited the household of resettled resident Zou Xinzen’s family in Zouzhuang Village, Jiuzhong Town, Xichuan County, Henan Province, to learn how they had improved their lives through farming, wage labor, and livestreaming ecommerce. Seeing that the relocated residents’ income had risen significantly, the General Secretary expressed his gratification and emphasized that the Communist Party was founded and governs for the people.
The General Secretary pointed out that the Party fought to win the country and also governs to safeguard it, and what it safeguards is the people’s hearts. This sentence also conveys the governing philosophy he has always upheld: placing the people in the highest position in his heart and continuously striving to help the masses live better lives.
