The National Flood Control Headquarters deploys flood control work for the "seven down, eight up" period

On July 15, the Office of the National Flood Control Headquarters convened a consultation with multiple departments to assess the situation during the critical floodcontrol period of "midJuly to early August" and to deploy prevention and response work in key areas. The National Flood Control Headquarters is currently maintaining Level III emergency response for flood control for Liaoning and Jilin, as well as Level IV emergency response for flood control for Heilongjiang and Shandong. Relevant working groups are still on the front lines in Liaoning and Jilin to provide assistance and guidance. The consultation pointed out that floods in some rivers in North China and Northeast China are currently moving downstream, and the pressure on levees and reservoirs is relatively high; heavier rainfall will also occur in the eastern part of Northwest China, and some small and mediumsized rivers face the risk of floods exceeding warning levels. Meteorological forecasts show that from the latter half of July to the first half of August, both southern and northern China may see rainprone areas, with localized torrential rain and floods occurring frequently, and stronger typhoons moving northward to affect inland areas. Overall, the floodcontrol situation is severe and complex. The National Flood Control Headquarters requires all localities and departments to fully shoulder their responsibilities, strengthen emergency preparedness, material allocation, and force prepositioning, organize the evacuation of people from dangerous areas in advance to avoid risks, and implement targeted measures at key locations such as tourist attractions and elderly care institutions. At the same time, efforts should be intensified to ensure the safe passage of reservoirs through the flood season and to defend against river floods, with stronger inspections and hazard elimination, coordinated dispatching, and preparations for the use of flood storage and detention areas to reduce flood risks in river
