Former Deputy Director of the Ningxia Sports Bureau Zhang Mei Has Been Prosecuted

The bribery case of Zhang Mei, former deputy director of the Ningxia Sports Bureau, has been prosecuted, with an exceptionally large amount of money involved. The case has been transferred to the court for trial; follow-up developments and judicial information will be monitored.

According to a June 25 report from China News Service in Yinchuan, the case of Zhang Mei, former member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Sports Bureau, suspected of bribery, has been investigated to completion by the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Supervision Commission and transferred to the procuratorial authorities for review and prosecution. After designation of jurisdiction by the People's Procuratorate of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the People's Procuratorate of Shizuishan City has filed a public prosecution with the Intermediate People's Court of Shizuishan City. The procuratorate alleges that during her tenure as director of the Competitive Sports Division, director of the Mass Sports Division, and deputy director of the autonomous region's Sports Bureau, Zhang Mei took advantage of her position to seek benefits for others and illegally accepted property, involving an extraordinarily large sum. At present, the case is still being processed further.
