On June 4, Thongloun, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos, who is on a state visit to China, visited the Party School of the CPC Central Committee (National Academy of Governance). He had spent a month there in 2000 for an exchange and study program, and this time he specifically returned to the dormitory where he had lived back then for a visit.
During the visit, Thongloun said that 26 years had passed in the blink of an eye, and thanked the teachers for imparting knowledge to him at the time when he shook hands with them. He also noted that studying at the Central Party School had laid an important foundation for Lao officials to promote national development, and hoped that Lao officials would draw on China's experience in state governance and administration during their studies.
