Korean and U.S. Big Tech to Pursue $950 Billion AI Cooperation

The Presidential Office said that, on the occasion of President Lee Jaemyung's visit to San Francisco, U.S., and the AI Summit, Korean companies and global big tech are pushing ahead with semiconductor and AI cooperation worth a total of $950 billion.
Policy Chief Kim Yongbeom explained that Samsung Electronics and Broadcom signed a memorandum of understanding for foundry cooperation to supply advanced memory semiconductors and produce AI chips worth $200 billion over the next five years. He said SK, together with Nvidia and others, has decided to pursue longterm supply cooperation for advanced memory semiconductors worth $750 billion over five years.
In addition, domestic companies and global big tech will also push ahead with investment cooperation for AI data centers worth about 5 GW. SKT agreed with Nvidia to support the construction and expansion of AI data centers of up to 2 GW, and Naver decided to work with Nvidia and Brookfield to build a global AI factory. Hyundai Motor Group will jointly build a platform for robot development with Nvidia, and Samsung SDS and Anthropic also signed cooperation agreements for nurturing AI talent and identifying new business opportunities.
