China-Africa Friendship Enters Shandong Cultural Carnival Opens in Jinan

On August 4, the 2026 ChinaAfrica Friendship Shandong Visit — LuAfrica Cultural Carnival, themed “Harmony Between Mountains and Seas, Mutual Beauty and Coexistence,” opened in Jinan. The event aims to further promote cooperation between Shandong and Africa in culture, trade and economic exchange, and peopletopeople ties. At the opening ceremony, Lin Wu, Secretary of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, said that Shandong has long attached great importance to exchanges with Africa, and that both sides have made positive progress in cultural and peopletopeople exchanges as well as economic and trade cooperation. He said that Shandong is willing to take this opportunity to continue expanding cooperation in multiple fields, promote twoway cultural interaction, and provide support for exchange on industrial development and modernization practices. King Letsie III of Lesotho and Queen Masenate attended the opening ceremony. Sun Xueqing, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Somali Ambassador to China Dan Osman Abdi, and Angolan Ambassador to China Dalva Allen also delivered remarks at the event. The event also unveiled the Top Ten LuAfrica Cultural Cooperation Projects, held cultural performances, and featured the “Great River · Great Earth: LuAfrica Art Dialogue Exhibition.”
