According to a message on the Ministry of Emergency Management’s WeChat public account, the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters activated a LevelIV flood control emergency response at 6:00 p.m. on July 27 for Hubei and Sichuan.
Meteorological authorities forecast that from July 27 to 28, heavy to torrential rain will hit parts of southcentral Hubei and the Sichuan Basin, with extremely heavy rain in some local areas. The risk of flash floods, geological disasters, and floods in small and mediumsized rivers remains relatively high in the affected regions.
The National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters made the above deployment in accordance with the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Emergency Plan and relevant regulations to strengthen flood prevention and disaster response efforts.
