South Chungcheong Province will launch an initiative to build an AIbased moldless additive manufacturing platform to support the production of advanced mobility parts. The province announced on the 7th that it had been selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's call for proposals for the '2026 Advanced Manufacturing TechnologyBased Mobility Manufacturing Innovation Hub Development Project.' The project aims to respond to the growing demand for highvariety, lowvolume production and customized manufacturing brought on by the spread of electrified and autonomous vehicles. South Chungcheong Province plans to invest a total of 22.6 billion won, including 10 billion won in national funding, over five years from this year through 2030 to establish a manufacturing innovation center in the Seonghwaneup area of Seobukgu, Cheonan. The center will include a system that supports the design, process demonstration, and evaluation and verification of future mobility parts. The province will form a consortium with Namseoul University IndustryAcademic Cooperation Foundation, Chungnam Technopark, and Korea Automobile Research Institute to establish equipment for process demonstration as well as postprocessing and measurement equipment, and to operate a test bed for corporate support. It also plans to promote design and analysis, parts development, technical support, and workforce training programs for small and mediumsized enterprises and midsized companies.
