The dividend distribution process for the 71 billion won deposit in the Cho Hee-pal fraud case begins
Cho Hee-pal fraud dividend distribution process resumes, 71 billion won in deposited funds to be paid out sequentially Payments expected after confirming the distribution date for 74,000 victims
The Daegu District Court's Western Branch will restart the distribution process for the 71 billion won in criminal proceeds deposited with the court in connection with the Jo희팔 fraud case. The court plans to hold distribution hearings sequentially starting on the 24th, beginning with the case with the largest amount of deposited funds.
This distribution is related to four cases that were originally scheduled to be divided and paid out to victims starting in 2017. The deposited funds consist of two cases worth 32 billion won each, one case worth 5 billion won, and one case worth 2 billion won, and the number of victims, including duplicates, totals more than 74,000.
The process had previously been halted after some victims objected to creditor status and the amount allocated, but with the case finalized by the Supreme Court last October, the related lawsuits have ended and the distribution is now being pushed forward again. The court is also checking whether there have been any changes to personal information such as victims' addresses.
