President Lee Jae-myung Hints at Possible Second Supplementary Budget, Mentions Additional GPU Procurement

Expansion of GPU procurement and the possibility of a supplementary budget: President Lee Jae-myung reviewed the future new security strategy Check the direction of fiscal response, including the variables of excess tax revenue and the National Computing Center

President Lee Jaemyung mentioned the possibility of drafting an additional supplementary budget (extra budget) along with expanding the securing of graphics processing units (GPUs) at the "Future New Security Innovation Company Fostering Strategy Meeting" held at the Blue House on the 26th. President Lee said that securing domestic GPU supply is moving slowly, and that additional resources may be needed to prepare for largescale demand. In particular, he also mentioned system problems at the Gwangju National Computing Center and spoke in the sense that related budgets should be supplemented. This remark is interpreted as a signal that, against the backdrop of the possibility of excess tax revenue from this year's semiconductor boom, a second supplementary budget could be considered separately from next year's budget proposal. President Lee had previously also mentioned at a Cabinet meeting the need for fiscal management using excess tax revenue and support for ordinary people.
