A power outage occurred in parts of Yeongjong 1dong, Yeongjong 2dong, and Yeongjongdong in Yeongjongdo, Incheon on the afternoon of the 13th, causing inconvenience for residents. According to Korea Electric Power Corporation and the Incheon Fire Headquarters, the outage is believed to have been caused by an issue with a transmission line at Jungsan Substation, and the exact cause is under investigation. As a result, power was cut off in apartments, houses, shops, and other places, and at some intersections, traffic lights went out, so police directed vehicle traffic with hand signals. The fire authorities received 26 reports of people being trapped inside elevators, and deployed 56 personnel and 20 pieces of equipment to complete all rescues by 8:30 p.m. that day. So far, no casualties have been confirmed. KEPCO is continuing restoration work, and as of 8:20 p.m., power supply had resumed in Yeongjongdong and Yeongjong 2dong. Most of Yeongjong 1dong has also been restored, but some apartment complexes are still experiencing outages. Incheon City and Yeongjong District are examining additional damage while also considering opening evacuation facilities for residents if the prolonged outage continues.
