Study Notes: Improving the Ecological Environment Requires Sustained Efforts

June 5 is World Environment Day. This year, the theme of China’s Environment Day is “Comprehensively advancing green transformation and jointly building a Beautiful China.” The article focuses on the building of ecological civilization and environmental governance, emphasizing that improving the ecological environment requires longterm persistence and sustained effort. The report notes that the sixth batch of the third round of central ecological and environmental inspections is underway, and ecological and environmental problems in many places have been publicly reported, sending a signal of staying problemoriented and continuing rectification. The article reviews the progress made in China’s ecological and environmental protection since the new era began, and points out that current governance still faces intertwined structural, rootcause, and trendbased pressures.
