Sichuan Introduces Measures to Accelerate Agricultural and Rural Modernization

Recently, the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee held a press conference to explain the spirit of the 12th Plenary Session of the 9th Provincial Party Committee and to make arrangements for accelerating the modernization of agriculture and rural areas. This meeting focused on key areas such as grain supply assurance, industry cultivation, improvements to the living environment, farmers' income growth, and factor reforms, and put forward a number of practical measures to speed up and improve the efficiency of related work.
In terms of ensuring stable production and supply of grain and other major agricultural products, Sichuan has proposed strengthening the protection of arable land, advancing the construction of highstandard farmland, enhancing grain and oil production capacity, and promoting the stable development of animal husbandry, fisheries, and vegetables. At the same time, Sichuan also stressed technological support, planning to strengthen agricultural science and technology innovation and the transformation of achievements, advance the revitalization of Sichuan seed varieties, and develop smart agriculture and modern agricultural machinery.
In terms of rural industries and farmers' income growth, Sichuan will accelerate the cultivation of distinctive industries such as vegetables, fruits, and tea, promote the development of new models in agricultural product processing and rural cultural tourism, and implement an action to double farmers' income, striving to double the per capita disposable income of rural residents in the province compared with 2025 within 10 to 15 years. Around integrated urbanrural development, Sichuan will also promote the twoway flow of factors between urban and rural areas through land consolidation, revitalizing rural assets, attracting talent, and strengthening financial support.
