Foreign Minister Cho Hyun said at the 29th KoreaASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in Manila, Philippines, on the 22nd that in the midst of global supply chain disruptions and instability in the Middle East, no country can protect prosperity and security on its own.
Minister Cho referred to ASEAN as a trustworthy partner and said cooperation would be expanded in areas such as artificial intelligence, cultural and creative industries, and countering transnational crime. He also explained the implementation plan for the vision of the KoreaASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) and requested the support of member states.
ASEAN member states expressed their welcome for the cooperation initiatives proposed by Korea and reaffirmed their support for the South Korean government's policy toward the Korean Peninsula.
