Samsung Electronics held ‘Galaxy Unpacked 2026’ in London, UK on the 22nd and unveiled three new foldable models. The new lineup consists of the ‘Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra,’ ‘Galaxy Z Fold8,’ and ‘Galaxy Z Flip8.’
The Galaxy Z Fold8 is distinguished by a wider horizontal width than before, changing the aspect ratio to 4:3 when unfolded. When folded, it offers a usage experience similar to that of a regular smartphone, and when unfolded, it features a display configuration better suited for watching videos and other content. The Ultra model has improved its camera, battery, and charging functions, while the Flip8 has increased portability but has not undergone major changes in its exterior design.
Prices for the new products have generally increased due to rising component costs. Domestic preorders will run from July 28 to August 3, and the official launch is scheduled to take place sequentially starting with Korea on August 7.
