Guangxi Prevents Large-Scale Relapse into Poverty and New Poverty: Regularized Monitoring and Assistance Continue to Intensify Dual measures of industrial rewards and subsidies and stable employment to safeguard the gains of poverty alleviation

The Guangxi Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said that, as the fiveyear transition period for effectively linking the consolidation and expansion of poverty alleviation achievements with rural revitalization has come to an end, the region has entered a new stage of normalized assistance and will continue to make preventing largescale relapse into poverty and new poverty its key priority. Guangxi said that in recent years, it has formed a "1+N" policy system centered on monitoring and assistance, industrial development, stable employment, and basic safeguards, and has enhanced the sustainable development capacity of povertystricken areas and people lifted out of poverty through measures such as industrial incentives and subsidies, employment assistance, and project management and maintenance. As of the end of August this year, Guangxi had cumulatively disbursed 2.36 billion yuan in incentivebased subsidies for householdlevel industries, benefiting 909,600 people among the povertystricken population and those under monitoring for preventing a return to poverty and new poverty; the number of people from povertystricken households employed across the region reached 2.9273 million, with 4,257 assistance workshops absorbing 65,600 people from povertystricken households. Guangxi said that in the next step, it will continue to strengthen normalized monitoring and assistance and hold the line against largescale relapse into poverty and new poverty.
