At a regular press conference on June 26, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said that maintaining stability in the waters between China and South Korea and safeguarding a sound order for fishing production are in the common interests of both sides.
He pointed out that China has consistently required Chinese fishermen to operate in accordance with laws and regulations, while firmly safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests.
Guo Jiakun also said that China and South Korea have already established a relatively mature dialogue mechanism on fisheries issues and maintain close communication on related matters.
