Due to a WETAX service disruption, local tax filing and payment are delayed; payment deadline extended to the 7th
Local tax filing and payment deadlines extended, no disadvantages amid WETAX and Government24 outage Manual filing and partial payment available until the 7th; restrictions on issuing confirmation documents continue
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the morning of the 1st that local tax reporting and payment, as well as the issuance of various certificates through WeTax, Government24, and local government civil service counters, had been temporarily suspended due to a local tax system outage.
As a result, the deadline for filing and paying local taxes, including acquisition tax and automobile tax, has been pushed back further than originally planned and extended to the 7th. If filing and payment are completed within the extended period, there will be no disadvantages such as penalties.
However, starting at 12 p.m. that day, taxes for which bills had already been issued or assessments had been completed could be paid through WeTax, bank transfers, credit cards, and bank CD/ATMs. On the other hand, for some tax items that require payment after filing, as well as the issuance of payment confirmation certificates needed for real estate registration, restrictions are still in place. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety also advised that in urgent cases, people may visit the local government's tax department directly to file and submit documents by hand.
