According to a message from the Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, Qi Wei, the former Party secretary and chairman of Jiangxi Provincial Financial Holding Group Co., Ltd., has been expelled from the Party and transferred to the procuratorate for legal review and prosecution due to serious violations of discipline and law.
The notice shows that Qi Wei was alleged to have been disloyal and dishonest to the Party, to have resisted organizational review, to have unlawfully accepted gifts and cash, to have accepted banquets and travel arrangements that could affect the fair performance of his duties, and to have sought gains for others and received property in matters such as cadre recruitment.
In addition, the notice said he also used his position to seek gains for others in areas such as enterprise acquisitions, project contracting, and promotion, illegally accepted huge sums of property, and abused his power, causing major losses to the national interest. Relevant departments have confiscated the proceeds from his violations of discipline and law in accordance with regulations and have canceled his related benefits.
