The KOSPI fell again on the 30th, extending its weakness for a third straight trading day. The index closed at 5,593.56, down 69.68 points (1.23%) from the previous trading day. During the session, it tried to recover the 6,000 level, but selling pressure strengthened again and it turned downward. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix also rose intraday before eventually closing lower. On the day, individual investors sold a net 1.4199 trillion won, while foreign investors bought a net 1.3329 trillion won, stepping in to buy at lower prices. Over the month of July, the KOSPI fell 34.01%, marking one of the sharpest declines among major global stock markets. Brokerage firms are lowering target prices, mainly for the semiconductor sector. In the market, analysts say that expanded margin lending, leveraged products, and issues related to U.S. big tech investments have increased stock market volatility.
