Recently, many visitors have come to the Gratitude Education Base in Qiaojia County, Zhaotong, Yunnan, to learn about the history of the Red Army's Long March through Qiaojia. Relying on its revolutionary resources, the local area has connected memories of the Long March, the construction of the Baihetan Hydropower Station, and the development of the reservoir area, presenting changes over nearly a century.
In May 1935, the Red Ninth Army Corps tied down enemy forces in the ferry area related to Qiaojia, and with the assistance of local residents and boatmen, crossed the Jinsha River, creating conditions for the main force of the Central Red Army to successfully cross the river. Today, this former revolutionary hot land has taken on a new look.
